HOW TO GET INVOLVED...
NORTH TV VOLUNTEER TRAINING
North TV conducts training workshops for North Attleborough residents who are interested in access television
and/or being a volunteer. The four training workshops are free and are available to all town residents.
Participants learn how to operate North TV’s production equipment. They will be able to use the skills
they learn to produce their own television shows for North TV. The policies of the cable industry apply.

NORTH TV SUMMER WORKSHOPS
Orientation: Monday, July 14 from 7pm to 9pm
Join us for a tour of our newly expanded office and studios! Participants will have the opportunity to sign up for our upcoming series of workshops, as well as learn about the many productions and goings on at North TV. Attendance at orientation is a prerequisite for all other workshops.

Studio Production Track
Basic Studio Production: (2 classes)
Monday, July 21 and Monday, July 28, 7pm to 9pm
Participants in this two-session workshop will learn the ins and outs of North TV’s state-of-the-art production studio. By session end, students will be ready to crew an in-studio access production.
Prerequisite: Orientation
Interview Techniques:
Monday, August 4, 7pm to 8:30 pm
Includes in-class practice and critique. Recommended for Producers, Show Hosts and Field Interviewers/Reporters.
Prerequisite: Basic Studio Production
Field Production Track
Basic One-Camera Production (ENG): (2 classes)
Wednesday, July 30 and Wednesday August 4, 7pm to 9pm
Hands-on instruction on North TV’s Panasonic DVC-PRO camcorders for general field production, as well as shooting for tv news. Includes instruction on tripod use, external mics, and shot composition. In-class, team-based projects and critiques.
Prerequisite: Orientation

Prerequisite: Basic Studio Production
Post Production Track
Basic Final Cut Pro Digital Editing: (2 class meetings)
Monday, August 11 and Monday, August 18, 7pm to 9pm
Introduction to the basics of Final Cut Pro on the Mac; screen menus and windows, tape digitizing, basic editing and effects, titling, audio mixing, file management. Includes individual project.
Prerequisite: Orientation
Advanced Final Cut Pro Digital Editing Techniques:
Monday, August 25, 7pm to 9pm
Demonstration and hands-on training in advanced techniques, including shortcuts, motion, speed, keyframes, sizing, cropping, color correction, filters, chroma key, audio equalizing and fixes.
Prerequisite: Basic Final Cut Pro Digital Editing
Introduction to LiveType:
Wednesday, August 27, 7pm to 9pm
Hands-on training in making animated text and graphics compatible with Final Cut Productions.
Prerequisite: Basic Final Cut Pro Digital Editing
