Holcomb addresses air quality concerns in schools

NORTH ATTLEBORO - Parents can rest-assured that their children will be in good hands this coming school year.

Superintendent of North Attleboro public schools, Scott Holcomb discussed in great detail some of the measures being taken to ensure students and faculty are in the best position possible to have a safe and clean learning environment.  Air quality was at the top of the list of measures addressed.

Holcomb stated that all of the HVAC systems in the various schools were looked at, cleaned out, tuned up, as well as most of the dampers in the system being opened up to allow even more fresh air from outside in.

Simultaneously, 400 individual air purifiers have been ordered to be placed in many of the classrooms as another line of defense.

In addition to air purification measures, 675 addtitional hand sanitizing dispensers were added to the schools with appropriate signage.

The school ear begins in North Attleboro on September 18 with some students returning in person and others being taught remotely.
