Test 3

North girls rout Stoughton

NORTH ATTLEBORO –The North Attleborough girls basketball team stormed out of the gates Wednesday night, amassing a 23-2 lead after the first quarter en route to a 63-19 win over Stoughton.

Big Red’s relentless full court pressure was the catalyst for North’s big first half. The pressure of guards Amanda Kaiser and Summer Doherty in the backcourt frustrated the Stoughton guards and led to multiple turnovers and easy baskets for the Rocketeers.

To go along with a high motor defensive effort, Kaiser was lights out from the floor in the first half, converting three 3-pointers to build North’s big advantage. She finished the night with 19 points and 4 steals to lead all players. For her effort on both ends of the floor, Kaiser takes home the well-deserved North TV Player of the Game honor.

Eight other Red Rocketeers got into the scorebook including 11 points from Doherty, 9 points from senior Cailyn Maxcy, 7 points from junior Abby Camelio, 6 points from junior Taylor McMath, 4 points from sophomore Ava McKeon, and 3 points from senior Lydia Santos.

Senior Siobhan Weir and junior Carly Guertin also recorded buckets for North.

North, now 1-1 on the season, travels to Stoughton on Thursday, January 14 for a rematch against the 0-1 Black Knights.
