Poirier will miss serving people

NORTH ATTLEBORO - The adage that bad news comes in threes certainly applies to retirement announcements.

Town Clerk Kevin Poirier was the first to announce he will be stepping down in a letter read into the record during last week's town council meeting.

Superintendent of Schools Scott Holcomb told members of the North Attleboro school committee Tuesday night that he was retiring from education on his birthday, August 26 for a position in the private sector.

Assistant Town Manager and former Town Administrator Michael Gallagher was the third member of town government to announce his retirement when he notified department heads on Wednesday that he would be retiring at the end of the fiscal year, June 30.
