WRENTHAM - King Philip Regional High School has a new assistant principal.
Superintendent Dr. Rich Drolet and Principal Nicole Bottomley announced recently Dr. Matthew Maré had been hired as the high school’s new assistant principal.
Dr. Maré started in his new position on Monday; he comes to KP with over 15 years of experience in public education.
Maré served as assistant principal of Charles S. Pierce Middle School in Milton since 2023.
Prior to his time in Milton, he was assistant principal of Seekonk’s Kevin M. Hurley Middle School for two years.
Before entering school administration, Dr. Maré spent much of his career as a social studies teacher in Seekonk Public Schools, where he co-founded the nonprofit Totat Teacher Project, which hosted events to help educators build stronger connections with students.
Dr. Maré earned a doctorate in education from Northeastern University, a master’s degree in education from the University of Massachusetts and a bachelor’s degree in history from the UMass Amherst.
