NORTH ATTLEBORO - The town is seeking two residents to volunteer to serve on the board of health as the board expands from three members to five.
A press release issued by the town explains the BOH plays an important role in protecting and promoting the health, safety, and well-being of the North Attleboro community.
Its responsibilities include helping to control disease, promoting sanitary living and working conditions, protecting the environment from discease and pollution, adopting and amending local healh regulations, overseeing permits and licenses related to public health, and providing information and services to the community.
No specific professional background or experience is required to serve on the board.
Residents with an interest in public health, community well-being, and serving North Attleboro are encouraged to apply.
Residents who would like to learn more before applying are encouraged to attend an upcoming meeting, either in person or virtually, to learn more about the board’s responsibilities and current work.
The boards generally meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month from 6 to 8 p.m.
