NORTH ATTLEBORO - The town's school department was hit last week by a suspected cyberattack.
School Superintendent John Antonucci told our partners at The Sun Chrohicle, “Over the past several days, the North Attleboro Public Schools responded to a cybersecurity incident involving unauthorized activity on our network. While we cannot share specific technical details for security reasons, we want our community to know that our internal safeguards and monitoring systems worked as intended, allowing us to take swift action before any more serious impact occurred. After identifying the unauthorized activity, and out of an abundance of caution, we took several proactive steps.”
Those included temporarily shutting down part of the network and implementing additional security measures.
