Plainville town meeting rejects money for potential wells

PLAINVILLE - Residents turned down an article to borrow $350,000 to fund planning for new well sites during a special town meeting held in the rain last Saturday, December 13, in the King Philip high school parking lot.

The article was placed on the warrant by the board of selectmen in hopes of increasing the town’s water supply.

Residents did approve a transfer of $180,000 from the water enterprise account to fund design of the Pleasant Street/Grove Street area water main replacement.

That special town meeting can be seen in its entirety on North TV’s Plainville Channel: Comcast channel 8.

It can also be streamed by becoming a North TV Insider, a free service to North Attleboro and Plainville cable subscribers.

Subscriptions are available for residents without cable television and people living outside of North Attleboro and Plainville for only $2.99 a month.
