Strachan runs over Foxboro to earn POTW

NORTH ATTLEBORO - The end of the high school football regular season was a good one for the teams North TV covers.

One of our crews was at King Philip’s Macktaz Field Halloween Night for the Warriors whipping of Attleboro 36-13 to remain undefeated.

At the same time, North Attleboro bounced back from its loss to Mansfield by shocking Foxboro 17-14 when Nick Torres split the uprights from 28 yards with no time left.

It was the second time this season Torres hit a game-winning field goal. He was named our Player of the Week earlier this season when he connected on a 25-yard field goal with no time left for a 17-14 win at Taunton.

Torres is not our Player of the Week this time, however.

That honor goes to Frankie Strachan.

The 6’2” 250-pound senior literally carried the Red Rocketeers to victory with 173 yards on 37 carries.

He carried the ball 10 times for 58 yards on North’s first possession while taking 10:57 off the clock.

The second drive was equally impressive.

Strachan had 13 carries for 46 yards and had a key 15-yard catch.

Number-7 was, obviously, our Player of the Week.

Click the video below to watch some of his many highlights.

Frankie will receive a copy of the win over Foxboro on a USB drive and a Player of the Week t-shirt in North Attleboro red.

We’ll announce our Player of the Week from this Friday’s football games next week at this time.
