NORTH ATTLEBORO - It wouldn’t be a summer without an update on swimming in Falls Pond.
The last report was that the pond was closed, so the news this week must be it’s open, right? Yes.
Health officials announced on Thursday the geomean is now under the exceedance and safe for swimming.
What is geomean? Geoman or the geometric mean is the average calculated by multiple water quality tests.
A number of the tests this summer showed E. coli levels above safe levels, pushing the average high enough to close the pond.
