Test 3

Angelucci pins KP to a win, earns POTW honors

WRENTHAM - The North TV sports team was busy last week with three games in four days.

We were inside the King Philip gymnasium Tuesday, February 3, for a girls’ basketball game between the Warriors and Sharon Eagles. KP pummeled Sharon 64-30 for their 10th win of the season.

Wrestling was on the schedule that next night, also at King Philip. The Warriors grounded the Hawks 37-34 in a match that came down to the final seconds.

We closed out the week at Bishop Feehan’s McIntyre Gymnasium. The Shamrocks crushed Cardinal Spellman 89-51 in a game that included Brody Bumila’s 1,000th point. The 6’9” senior needed 45 points. He finished with 46 – all in the first half.

Bumila has already been our Player of the Week, so we’re going with King Philip’s Luca Angelucci wrestling at 285 pounds. Giving up a number of pounds to his Waltham opponent, Angelucci came up with the pin with only 5 seconds remaining.

Click the video below to watch Angelucci's pin and the end of the thrilling match.

Luca will receive a copy of the match against Waltham on a USB drive and a Player of the Week t-shirt in King Philip gold.

We’ll announce our final Player of the Week for the winter sports regular season next week at this time.
