NORTH ATTLEBORO - The town's government has a budget for the new fiscal year beginning July 1 after the town council Monday night unanimously approved a budget of $121,014,415 for FY27.
The amount is $7.7 million or 6.8% higher than this year’s budget.
The debt for construction of the new high school accounts for $4.2 million or 55% of the increase.
Rising health costs also had a major impact on expenses for the new year.
The school department, which receives the most money, received an increase of 4%.
Councilors noted the majority of the discussion was held during earlier council meetings and those of the finance subcommittee.
