Test 3

Lako walks off with POTW honors

NORTH ATTLEBORO - The first full week in May was the busiest of the spring season for our North TV sports crew.

They were at Community Field Monday (May 4) when the Red Rocketeers hosted Foxboro on the baseball diamond. North pulled out a comeback 5-4 walkoff win to shock the Warriors.

Bishop Feehan’s McGrath Stadium was home to Tuesday’s game; the Shamrocks mashed Moses Brown 13-8 in girls’ lacrosse in a battle of interstate private schools.

Girls’ lacrosse was on the schedule again that next day when two of North TV’s schools squared off. King Philip beat North Attleboro in a football-like score, 14-6.

We were at our fourth field in as many days on Thursday. Bishop Feehan, one of the top-ranked teams in the state, lost 5-2 to Boston English at the Shamrocks’ Beach Field.

The week ended where it started, at Community Field. The Red Rocketeers didn’t need a last at bat this time, as they stomped Stoughton 9-1 on Friday.

Our Player of the Week comes for the first game of the week.

Jack Lako came up big with a walkoff double that plated the tying run from second base and the winning run from first for the 5-4 victory.

The sophomore outfielder and pitcher also walked twice, scored twice and was hit by a pitch. Here’s a look at number-19 coming up big against the Warriors.

Jack will receive a copy of that game against Foxboro on a USB drive and a Player of the Week t-shirt in North Attleboro red.

Click the video below to watch Lako reach base four times, including the game-winning RBI double.

We’ll announce our Player of the Week from this week next week at this time.
