NORTH ATTLEBORO - The town council approved a measure Monday night establishing installation and maintenance standards for fire hydrants located on private property.
The new bylaw ensures hydrants are in good working order for fire suppression.
The measure was proposed by Fire Chief Chris Coleman after his department had two incidents where the fire hydrant caps couldn’t be opened due to lack of maintenance.
