NORTH ATTLEBORO - The North TV sports crew was busy over the holidays.
We were at North Attleboro’s Pickering Gymnasium on December 16 for Tyler Strange’s first game as head coach of the Red Rocketeers. North fell behind early to Milford, but rallied to hammer the Hawks 48-31.
Our crew was back at NAHS that Friday for the Red Rocketeers win over Taunton 48-34, giving Julie Feid her first win as head coach while she fills in for Ashley Kapaa, who is on maternity leave.
Hockey was on our schedule the next night for the battle of Feehan and North. The Shamrocks were too much for the Red Rocketeers as they tripled North 6-2 at the New England Sports Center.
We made the trip to the Foxboro Sports Center for more hockey action on December 22. King Philip downed Westwood 2-1 in the nonleague matchup.
Bishop Feehan’s McIntyre Gymnasium was the site of a girls’ basketball game that next night, The Shamrocks beat Cathedral 57-48.
We rang in 2026 with a thriller in the King Philip gym. The Warriors were shelled by Sharon in the early going, trailing 29-12 at the half, but KP rallied for a 72-69 win, their first of the season.
Our staff decided to go with two Players of the Week for the games played over that stretch.
North’s Jake Peckham is one of our honorees. The senior guard, wearing number-0, helped lead the Red Rocketeers rally by hitting five three-pointers, finishing with a team-high 21 points.
Our second Player of the Week is KP’s Donovan Rohrs. The junior guard, wearing number-3, scored a game-high 30 points, 21 of them coming from three-point range, to be named one of our Players of the Week.
Jake and Donovan will receive copies of their games and Player of the Week t-shirts in North Attleboro red and King Philip gold, respectively. We’ll announce our Player of the Week for this week next week at this time.
