Plainville approves $45.8M budget for FY27

PLAINVILLE - Residents attending Monday night's annual town meeting at the Wood School overwhelmingly passed the $45.8 million budget presented by the finance committee.

The amount is $1.2 million more than the budget for the current fiscal year.

As is the case in most municipalities, schools make up most of the budget; Plainville will dedicate $21.7 towards education for the 2026-2027 school year.

Finance Committee Chair Mark Johnson explained the challenges the town faced putting together the budget when the article came up.
