Ambulance run saves former mill

NORTH ATTLEBORO - Tragedy was averted last week when firefighters extinguished a blaze on the second floor of the old mill building next to Dyer-Lake Funeral Home.

The fire, at 33 Robinson Avenue in the Falls Section of town, was reported at 1:10 a.m. by firefighters returning from an ambulance run to Sturdy Memorial Hospital.

Fire Chief Coleman told North TV on Monday had the fire not been discovered so early the mill and nearby buildings could have been lost.
