Test 3

Gruber stops 37 shots in losing effort to earn POTW honors

ATTLEBORO - The North TV sports crew covered four games in five nights last week.

We were at King Philip on Tuesday for the Warriors 47-43 boys’ basketball win over Canton.

The Foxboro Sports Center was the site of Wednesday’s 6-0 Westwood girls’ hockey shutout of KP.

We were at North Attleboro’s Pickering gym Friday for the boys’ basketball version of the Thanksgiving Day rivalry. The Red Rocketeers wish it had been football, as they were blown out by the Blue Bombardiers 70-50.

North also came out on the short end of the scoreboard Saturday, losing to another rival, Bishop Feehan, 3-0 on the ice at Attleboro’s New England Sports Village.

The Shamrocks would have won by more if not for the play of our North TV Player of the Week, Kyle Gruber. The senior goalie stopped 37 of 40 shots, many from point-blank range.

Kyle will receive a DVD copy of that game and a Player of the Week t-shirt in North Attleboro red.

We’ll announce our Player of the Week for the week of January 29 during next week's "North TV News."
