Neighbors voice opinions on Courtois brownfield

NORTH ATTLEBORO - A meeting to discuss the future of the former Boulter Farm, also known as the Courtois property, at 230 Mendon Road was attended by dozens of neighbors.

The property, a short drive from the Cumberland line, was originally a pig farm and later a sand and gravel facility.

Stephen Peterson wrote in Thursday’s edition of The Sun Chronicle that the site has a history of waste storage that led to contamination of soil and groundwater.

North Attleboro acquired the site in 1998 for back taxes and has taken steps to mitigate potential hazards. Residents addressed their concerns to town officials.
