Plainville BOS elect new chair, discuss override

PLAINVILLE - The Plainville Board of Selectmen has a new chair.

Jeff Johnson, who has chaired the board since April of 2019, and Brian Kelly both expressed interest in the position placing, Stanley Wydak in the unenviable position of placing the deciding vote. Wydak's position was obvious when he nominated Kelly for the post.

Later in the meeting, the board discussed the shortfalls in the town budget passed at the July 13 annual town meeting and whether another attempt to pass a Proposition 2.5 override should be considered. Members have been approached by supporters of the June 29 failed override to put the question on the ballot again.
