Purchase of Fisher College building proceeds

NORTH ATTLEBORO - The town council Monday night forwarded a request by Town Manager Michael Borg for $2,238,750 to purchase the Fisher College building at 451 Elm Street.

The former home of Donnelly Manufacturing and, later, Bristol County Savings Bank offices, will be the new site of the council on aging, senior center, Lenore’s Pantry and a regional food distribution center.

The council meeting was held at the Woodcock School Adminstration Building due to flooding in the lower level of town hall.

Funding for the purchase of the Fisher College building was on the agenda when the town’s finance subcommittee met Thursday night at North TV.
