Test 3

Students are chosen for Ed Andre scholarship

NORTH ATTLEBORO - 2020 marks the sixth year North TV has awarded the Ed Andre Scholarship to graduating seniors from North Attleboro, Bishop Feehan, and Tri-County High Schools pursuing a communications-related field in college.

Andre was a pioneer in the world of television, operating a camera for the original Honeymooners series with Jackie Gleason and years later Red Sox games for Boston's channel 5.  At North TV, Andre televised numerous telecasts of government meetings and educational events, including many here at N.A.H.S.

This year’s scholarship presentations were special to North TV, as Ed passed away in March at the age of 94.

Bishop Feehan did not have an applicant this year, but winners from North Attleboro and Tri-County high schools were selected.

The North Attleboro High School recipient of the Ed Andre Scholarship, in the amount of $500, is Rachel McKenna – who is attending Quinnipiac University.

The Tri-County High School recipient of the Ed Andre Scholarship, in the amount of $500, is Eric Kugler – who is attending Fitchburg State University.
