Goals, taxes discussed for the upcoming year

NORTH ATTLEBORO - Town Manager Michael Borg has big plans for the upcoming year.

During Monday night's 9/14 hybrid meeting of the town council, the town manager's goals for the upcoming year were praised by many council members for being linked to the "S.M.A.R.T" format they had articulated.

Mr. Borg made it a point of emphasis to the council that these goals, though very aggressive, need to be viewed as fluid due to certain issues potentially arising or other items becoming a priority down the line.

In addition to discussing the town manager's goals, council members were asked to consider implementing two policies regarding tax exemptions.

One such discussion was to lower the minimum age for one of the exemptions for seniors from 70 to 65 years of age.
