Will high school sports return in September?

NORTH ATTLEBORO - The announcement of a four-phase plan to reopen Massachusetts left as many questions as it answered, especially when it comes to sports.

Details of the plan were during a Monday press conference by Gov. Charlie Baker.

The area's professional sports teams are still prohibited from meeting and practicing at their facilities. The likelihood of fans packing Fenway Park or TD Garden in the near future seem unlikely, unless there is a drastic reduction in the number of cases across the state or a vaccine is produced - a process that normally takes years, not weeks.

What about high school sports? Will the fall sports season kick off in September? It was one of many topics debated during a new episode of "Up for Discussion: Sports Edition" recorded on Tuesday with North TV's Community Channel Coordinator Meghan Miller, North TV's Education Channel Coordinator and play-by-play announcer for high school sports Jared Ware, North TV's King Philip play-by-play announcer Mark Farinella and WARA-AM1320 play-by-play announcer Paul Healy.

The episode premieres Friday, May 22 on North TV's Community Channel: Comcast channel 15 and Verizon channel 24 in North Attleboro and Comcast channel 11 in Plainville.
